Business economics

Business Economics - a graduate economist, 240 ECTS. The time is coming when people who know how will make companies work on a solid economic basis. Number of places for the year 2016/2017: Classical studies - 60 students. Distance learning studies - 16 students.

The study program Business Economics is designed in such a way that future graduate economists can successfully solve economic problems in cooperation with other professions, primarily when it comes to legal and managerial professions. In this context future graduate economists have courses both from economy and management. The study program Business Economics is accompanied by both theoretical and practical work of students that has been developed at the Faculty; here, on practical case studies, the students learn that every single decision, i.e. each business activity must be based on economic principals for this is the way to secure competition as the key factor of survival of the whole economy and every organization. In this context, we have developed creative workshops that address: macro and micro aspects of economics, management of money and other resources, preparation of financial plans and budgets, preparation of financial statements and final accounts, etc. In current conditions, and especially in the future, the knowledge economy will gain importance as a branch of economy. This will largely change the design of the economy, where the traditional economising of natural resources will be replaced by economising of information and knowledge, i.e. human resources and people as the main sources of knowledge. Accordingly, within the framework of individual courses, this segment of the economy is studied, too. After the students graduate from our Faculty, it is estimated that they can quickly start participating in resolving economic problems both in micro and macro levels, i.e. on global level. The students who graduate from the program Business Economics have full knowledge and they are enabled to better understand the economic problems, but also the problems regarding social, economical, ethical, management and other phenomena that exist in every problem.
